At risk of losing your home? Or Homeless?
The Social Housing Division offers programs that provide emergency shelter and financial assistance to those who are homeless or at immediate risk of losing their home. Financial assistance can be used to pay rent and utility arrears or first month’s rent and moving costs to start up a new residence. These programs are delivered in partnership with the Dunnville Salvation Army Community and Family Services and are funded through the Province of Ontario’s Community Homelessness Prevention Initiative (CHPI).
Monthly rent assistance may also be available to individuals and families who are living in market rent housing and who cannot afford their rent. Please contact the Social Housing Resource Coordinator for details.
The Community Legal Clinic is available for free legal advice and assistance. The clinic can be reached by calling 519.752.8669 or Toll Free at 1.888.341.5021 or by visiting the website at www.bhnlegalclinic.ca.
