The following programs are funded by the Investment in Affordable Housing (IAH) for Ontario Strategy. They provide ongoing rent assistance to people who living in market rent and who are experiencing affordability crises (unable to pay their rent).
Monthly rent assistance for eligible households living in market rent housing units and who cannot afford their shelter costs (rent, heat, hydro, water). Maximum assistance is $140.00 per month.
To apply for the Housing Allowance, complete the Housing Allowance Application Form and submit it to the Social Housing Division, located at 12 Gilbertson Drive, Simcoe, Ontario N3Y 4L1.
Monthly rent subsidy for eligible market rent landlords to create affordable housing units. The tenant pays the affordable rent level and the landlord receives a subsidy up to the market rent level. The amount of subsidy may vary.
