The Rental Housing component of the Investment in Affordable Housing (IAH) Strategy for Ontario, provides forgivable loans (20 years) to builders/developers, including not for profit organizations, who are interested in creating and operating new affordable rental housing units in the community. This funding which is provided by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing is administered through Housing Services. Approved projects must have rent levels that are no higher than 80% of the average market rent for Haldimand and Norfolk and must remain affordable for at least 20 years.
This program is offered only as funding is made available to the municipality by the federal and provincial governments.
